1965 Chevy Ratrod Pickup
This 1965 Chevy ratrod pickup belongs to Rick Roberts of Franklin, Ohio. It has the factory 6 cylinder and 3 speed on the column. The body is very solid. I installed a full air ride system to give the truck the low stance it needs. I also installed a heavy-duty front sway bar, 4 KYB gas shocks, new steel smoothy wheels (15x6 front and 15x10 rear) with 285/70/15 tires. The truck will soon be returning to my shop to be dropped further in the rear by installing a lowering block and C-notching the frame.
As you can see, it has a replacement bed. Rick is a paint and body man and is currently giving the bed a patinaed look to match the rest of the truck. It will also have a vintage style logo on the doors. This truck is retro cool right down to the psychodelic crushed velvet upholstery. Check back for future updates...it is destined to be a very cool ride!
Here are updated photos of the pickup taken in August of '05. The current owner, Chip Johnson of Franklin, Ohio, found a nice replacement bed that was the same faded red as the cab. He added a rear roll pan and a new bed floor.
Here is another update on this truck in April of 2006.
